Dodge City, KS — One of the largest wind turbine farms in Kansas was my first assignment, and boy howdy what a place to learn. The weather variation from dawn to dusk was astounding, and the immense scale of the farms defies imagination. Miles upon miles.

Pilots work dawn to dusk 15hr days, and, we must be able to build, tear down, repair and reassemble the drones.

Kentucky UAS was trained online, obtained OSHA-10 certification, then sent to Wichita Falls, Texas for a week of intensive in-class training with an elite group of Top Gun pilots. We flew simulators and small FPV drones.

Then out to airfields for flight training of the real Alta-8 and SkySpecs 3D modeling LIDAR system, outfitted with a custom 10K SONY camera.

Finally, we were sent out for field training and on-site deployment.
